  1. I received all the in stock stuff on Thursday. Shipping was $18.86 for this portion of the order: 5 boxes (50 rnds ea.) of 9mm,357,38 spcl ammo, ear muffs, two soft MidwayUSA pistol cases and 357 snap caps.
  2. I bought these bad boys: http://www.amazon.com/Caldwell-MAX-Profile-Electronic-Muffs/dp/B001B8ONZI/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top I tested them first in the house slapping two shoes together as hard as I could. (Try it - find the loudest pair!! Not now - people are still sleeping ) Then I went in the shop and made some real noise. I must say - I'm pressed. Plus with the volume up, I can hear my dog fert in the other room. I will add to this thread as I add real use. Since the NRR is only rated at 23, I plan on using plugs as well for my low cost hearing protection plan when I'm indoors.
  3. Good ideas. I went ahead and got this set up: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0039BJ92W/ref=oss_product Want to see how irritated I get with different colors.
  4. All sweet suggestions. Gives me ideas when I'm scoping about. My heart wants a scaled down (80%) 1911, my head says Ruger MKII or MKIII.
  5. What do you guys recommend? I have a couple older pairs - scratched up over the years. Need a pair that are protective of the peepers, don't mess with my vision, comfortable, etc
  6. What semi auto 22LR do you guys like? What's out there? I probably won't buy for a little while (unless I find a deal). I need to shoot all my big guns. A week from Friday I'm doing a freebie at an indoor range.
  7. I will just shop sparingly with them. I will say this for Cabelas - they plain [censored] have some good phone customer service. They just owe me one box of 44 mag, due to arrive today. I had a gift card and a coupon thingy, so combined I did get a good deal from Cabelas after all said and done - plus all these shipments - they only charged me ONE low S&H fee, and that was really my main gripe with MidwayUSA. On the plus side: I got 44 mag ammo for days. That plus my free 9mm ammo and all the low cost 38 and 357 and more 9mm on the way, I'm building a new stash quickly. Dang - I have many bricks of 22 and cases of 12 ga shells. What's a poor guy gonna do - SHOOT!!

  9. Response: It's true, we are having trouble keeping items on the shelves, particularly reloading components, anything that might be affected by another "assault weapons" ban and loaded ammo. I think this is due to a combination of factors, including wartime demand for munitions that are made on the same assembly lines as commercial ammunition, the meteoric rise in raw materials that have raised ammunition prices so high that there is an influx of new reloaders buying more reloading equipment/components than the factories projected and course the big reason, the last Presidential election that has a lot of shooters very concerned. The factories have all added additional shifts and are operating at capacity, but the demand does not seem to be slowing down. I might order fifty cases of ammunition, and the factory can only send me five. If everyone would just buy what they need, we could get thru these shortages quickly, but people are upset they can't get ammo/supplies like they usually do, so they are making the problem worse by trying to stock up even more. Please accept my apology for the lack of stock, and I appreciate your patience as the supply lines catch up with demand. It is troubling to me that we are a nation of over 60 million gunowners, and 14 million hunters, yet membership in the NRA hovers around four million. Instead of panic buying in fear that politicians are going to infringe on our rights, we need to get our heads out of the sand and join the NRA. We need to use the political process to make our voices heard, and until we organize and do that, I think we will always have the danger of politicians trying to ban guns. Thanks for Your Business, Larry Potterfield Founder/CEO MidwayUSA NRA Benefactor Member
  10. Hot wire and electric knife are what folks at work said.
  11. Does seem like a tough job to do cleanly. I will ask some guys at work. Seems like they are always cutting foam to hold tools, parts, etc. I have not actually seen them cut it, just the finished product.
  12. Good input from all. My LGD gave me what I consider a pretty good deal on a Euro Police Sig re-manufactured P225 9mm. Comes in a box (has the cop's name on the box) with 2 mags, and also a holster. The cool thing is the dealer let me piggyback on the Ruger buy, so I only had to do the transfer paperwork, not another background check.
  13. Ouch - I would have bought it in a heart beat. Oh well!! It's in good hands I'm sure.
  14. I think that will be my fate as well. I haven't heard back from them on my beef letter. They have been prompt with the order updates, and the in stock stuff has shipped.
  15. He said he didn't get to eat on it. The guy is a fairly very knowledgeable old gun nut, I'm trying to get him to join. I think he does Facebook and stuff, but somehow he's not a "forum" kind of guy.

    SIG P225

My main GunWeasel is at the LV gun show. The dude running the shop right now doesn't know the deal. Besides, I couldn't hit the bank for cash today because it was closed for MLK.
  17. A pair - how sweet. I'm thinking they fire very nice. Gun porn indeed!!
  18. My Win 9422 is the smoothest, easiest, yet least wobbly action of any of my lever actions.
  19. Wowser. Can't see his finger move.
  20. Really nice, but for display only. Plus big $$$$$
  21. Really cool. I work with a guy who shot a buffalo with one.
  22. .357 AMP is pretty darn fascinating!! Cool write up. Don't forget the Baby AutoMag .22LR
  23. By all means - WELCOME!!
