  1. Very cool. Quote:FREE Machine Gun rental on your Birthday Heck with the cake!! Coincidentally - I went here and joined at 10AM today: http://www.wctle.com/home So I can relate to a nice place to shoot! Very well controlled air and sound.
  2. I love the heart and soul of his video regardless. His points about the reasons to own such a gun are spot on IMHO.
  3. You SHOULD brag, that IS AWESOME. Next time, you'll even be better!! Man that is very cool. People on the west coast sometimes don't know now much better stuff there is to do in the heart of our country. I swear some people around here.....well there is nothing like that here. I am now working with these guys: http://www.monroemonitor.com/main.asp?SectionID=2&SubSectionID=27&ArticleID=1327 No need to comment on this in your awesome thread, I'll do a new thread on this as we move forward. Carry ON - you are the man. Can't wait until we can shoot together. Paul
  4. I swear I thought he was gonna have a basketball chucker and then start firing at the ball in flight!
  5. That's the rare one! Dang, you should have bought it. How much were they asking? I hear you on the man time. My wife respects that. 45 revolver for the wife? Your heart was in the right place. How thoughtful!
  6. Is this any good: http://www.gunvault.com/gv5900.html
  7. I got my first Tipton rod yesterday (12+") AWESOME. Thanks - works REALLY nice.
  8. Good luck and have fun. Wish I was there!! I'm going to a different indoor range today. After that I will begin my mini reviews.
  9. Guns and basketball players? Who knew? He's pretty nutty. Not the safest practice....but I'm at a safe distance I guess.
  10. No problem. I can say interestingly enough I would never buy the P225 new. I'm not sure how many they will sell at $700. Refurbed under $350? All day long. Ever own a Remington Semi Auto like the 1911?
  11. Absolutely not. I just got it as a little 9mm plinking gun and couldn't pass up the $300 price tag. (with factory warranty) Point taken from G-man.
  12. DA? Like pulling a Hummer through a key hole. It would be some pretty weird circumstance that I would ever use this pistol in DA, so it doesn't really matter to me.
  13. Funny how personal tastes run. The cocobolo gripped 22/45 bull barrel Ruger MkIII is near drop dead gorgeous, IMHO. There are some EXTREMELY ugly (plastic black) garish guns out there and putting ANY of the Mks in with them just seems a bit odd.
  14. Long video - I'm only at the 12 minute mark, but he did mess up on the model info a tiny bit. He also says the bull barrel models are the entry level guns. Oh well, I still love the guy. Not sure when I will have time to watch the whole video.
  15. As I mentioned in the pistol thread - I went to a different gun shop yesterday. Talked to the sharp young guy behind the counter about the Blackhawk convertibles. He said they can't keep them in stock and they are just plain rare. He said he's personally wanted the 45 version for a year - he hasn't specifically ordered it, but said the wait would be long time. He yelled over to the boss about ordering some - like one of each, the boss yelled back to get some of each, including 5 of the 38/357/9mm version. I was surprised!
  16. I went to West Coast Armory yesterday. Nice, orderly shop but not really huge - however good with supplies. Ammo very expensive - other stuff, very low and gun prices the lowest in the area. I fondled a few guns after paying for the 22/45. Various 1911's. All seemed nice from the low end imports to the $2000+ models. Got to touch the NEW Remington 1911. Smooth, well made gun. The slide styling is not my cup of tea, but the ~$600 price range for a .45 is very well taken. On down to the 9mm case, no used P225, but they had a NEW one. Sig have started to import them again the keeper said. Just the same as mine - they do look nicer new naturally, but the price was over $700. Wow - my used one suddenly seemed nicer!!
  17. The stock grips are absolutely lovely cocobolo, but all the info I read says yes with just minor mods the 22/45's with removable grips will accept the aftermarket 1911 grips with just minor mods. Not many NEW guns under $300 with such features, but it is a 22!!
  18. What a dummy I am. I bought this thinking it's brass case: Quote:ABS9HP145 Silver Bear 9mm 145grn HP 50rd Box $9.95 Poop. I didn't read very closely! It's zinc plated steel. Oh well no biggie. The picture makes it look like brass I guess. OTOH: Quote:ADN9FMJ124Dynamit Nobel 9mm 124grn FMJ 50rd Box $9.95 Is perfect. Brass case, made in Switzerland. Purchase with AIM went smoothly otherwise. The shipping adds $4 box. No tax. My buddy from work said Walmart sells the 5 box bricks of 9mm for ~$50. Is this true?
  19. Whoa - I went and fondled the gun today. Gave the man $299 + tax and started my waiting period. Nice gun. I must say, my little collection is becoming quite nice.
  20. Thanks G-man. We can put this one to bed anyway. I'm buying a new one for $299. They sell used for near that price.
  21. I'd like to start this thread over again. The Ruger is just one nice gun. I got my grips from Esmeralda. One word: Stunning One nice, very unique gun now. OK OK, only new grips - but they are serialized and signed by her. And they look luscious. The grips also feel really nice in the hand. Soon, I'll post photos.
  22. Prefer the Ruger 22/45 with cocobolo grips but willing to consider any of the Ruger 22's (Mk II, III) with a Bull barrel for a reasonable price. Thanks!
