That's what I meant by "the works" - I fully understand they are nearly identical. The works meaning the entire package - OK the fit and finish are not so good in a lower Springfield vs. an upper Springfield. Maybe better steel alloys in the upper model as well.

I was out handgun blasting yesterday and I decided to do a Ballistol soak for two removed cylinders and a removed 9mm barrel. I have a brazillion perfect sized plastic parts bins in the shop so in go the parts, pour the Ballistol on them. Holy flaming gjeheestoast I nearly killed myself. The fumes sent me into a choking gagging mucus enraging spiraling gag fest. Dern, that stuff is nasty. Non-carcinogen my white hairy patootey!!

Yes. Gosh I wanna say 14,15, 16 or something. I lost count is all I know. Strong recoil, but not as sharp maybe as a 357 mag. But frankly, I like more time at home to get comfortable with the grip and the mechanics of a gun before I fire it. So hard for me to comment much deeper.

I agree. A couple guys at work don't like RIA 1911's. But they are never specific about what they don't like.

I shot even better today. Not so low. Just bagged it and wore my regular glasses. I went with a guy from work and shot his .40 Glock, 38/357 Vaquero and ancient 9 shot 22 revolver. We had a hoot. He was freakin' amazed at the accuracy of the Ruger convertible at 25 yards.

minute of zombag? Is that good or bad? Ballistol has a certain aroma. I can't decide if it stinks or it will give me cancer. I'm trying my homemade sights out tomorrow.
