    HALEY-SKIMMER???

    http://shop.glocktriggers.com/The-HALEY-SKIMMER-GT-13.htm Any good?
  2. My Colt, Sig, McCormick, Springfield mags all work great in all my 1911's. In fact, the only 1911 mags I EVER had a problem with are the two 10 round fake "Colt" mags I got real cheap at the gun show.....just goes to show you.
  3. Dangerous and NUTS. Wow. If you want to fire a gun just to make noise, just do in soft earth......not saying that's 100% safe, just better than in the air.
  4. Nice. Please compare to my Savage Lightweight Hunter 11. The Ruger price looks nice.
  5. For my AK? Mini 14? Savage Lightweight Hunter .308? Tactical and Hunting, just opening up my mind and looking at what I may find. Never used a (fancy) sling before other than a regular leather hunting variety. Some now are stretchy??
  6. A little story about package theft. Happened to us. Duvall, WA Between 12:27 PM and 6:00 PM last Friday. UPS Standard Ground. Long story short, on 12/12/11 I ordered some ammo for $113 from Sportsman's Guide dot com and like an idiot I just assumed the order was slow and UPS was slow - all because of Christmas, so 12/22 I looked up the tracking number. OOPS - delivered LAST Friday (12/16). Arggg - this is not going to go well. Normally someone is always here. I even had some business shipments delayed so they would not arrive that Friday. But this delivery sorta slipped my mind. The ONE time we weren't here. Extra details: Came home last Sunday (12/18) (left Friday AM) from Stevenson, WA (Skamania, about 3.5 hours south) and Christmas decorations from the lawn and such messed up. Hooligans. Didn't think much deeper about it other than ask our pet sitter if she knew anything. Our house watcher/pet sitter said she saw the decorations tossed on the drive and set them off to the side. Nothing else amiss according to her. No packages on the porch, brought newspapers in. Fed cat, and all rodents, etc. She noted she has seen other Christmas stuff disturbed at other houses. I reported it to UPS, naturally they say the shipper should start a claim. Called Sportsman's Guide - and guess what - they will reship the order, no hesitation - NO CHARGE. That company just keeps re-earning my business. They are top notch. I've had a couple good interchanges with their CS in the past. Their catalogs and stuff seem a bit cheezy and some of their stuff may be a bit cheap, but they are a TOP COMPANY. I say give them some business, this is honorable behavior IMHO. I called Duvall PD, he came right away, told the officer the story. He was interested in the ammo. The cop was kinda funny and very cool - I told him about Sportsman's Guide re-sending the order, he exclaimed "SWEET!!" with a big smile. Neighbors, etc. saw nothing. Watch those packages - now I read stories about thieves following delivery trucks in residential areas! Anyway - MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL
  7. Killer input fellas. I'm really leaning toward the the 1911. It's already my favorite gun.....that said the 20 and 29 Glock come in narrow (short?) frame versions, are these any better?
  8. OK OK Zombie shooting, not plinking. I'm also looking at the Fusion Elite Scout FWIW
  9. "just because" Mainly plinking in small volume, because I can.
  10. I can't decide - need serious input. I want a 10mm handgun, just because. I'm a 1911 nut, but I also love shooting my Glock 17L. So 1911 10mm or Glock 20 for about 1/2 the cost? Bury me with input!
  11. Actually the factory up the road takes no short cuts and uses pretty high tech controls. The place I got this ammo from, I'm not so sure, but I talked to the rep today. He said they use heavy primers and that the S&W Bodyguard .380ACP is somewhat know to do light strikes - that said we are meeting at his personal range to try out his ammo against 8 known brands. We shall see next Thursday!
  12. The site is indeed just a little squirrelly. A) This is my only .380 and I don't have any failed cartridges any more (for obvious reasons), plus most all of them finally went on the second or third trigger squeeze. I interfaced via email and phone chat with local FFL/shop I bought the gun from. He is helping me out 100% and whatever my choice is. Right now, I'm going to get 3-4 more brands of ammo. If they are all clean, then I'll just be dealing with the ammo company.
  13. I only have 3 lever guns, so I'm always looking for more!!
  14. Yes I can actually see the little hammer. LINKIE
  15. Money is in black guns. Sucks, but there it is. I still can't figure out why Rossi can't get .357's out of their factory. There is some demand, but how much is the question.
  16. I took the S&W Bodyguard .380ACP to the indoor range today. I brought a few hundred rounds of factory (local) reloads. First shot, bang. But man what a nasty trigger.....this is going to take some getting used to. Second shot - click. What? Wait. Drop mag, clear chamber - round has a definite pin strike. Hmmm.... ok. Set round in magic box. Insert mag. Try again. Click. Same story. OK defective gun......so I try again. Bang. Works. Next round click, click, bang (beauty of a hammer DA, I guess). After 50 rounds of either going off first or second impact, I had enough. So I go in range shop and buy a box of 50 PMC Brass .380ACP. Guess what? All 50 shot like a champ. Hmmmm....so I try the factory reloaded stuff and it does exactly as before, click, click, bang..... I wish I had other brands of ammo to try at the time. Ammo or gun? There have been some reports of light strikes with the .380 Bodyguard, but nothing like the bad reports on the LCP.
  17. Cool - gave my wife all kinds of links to the books. She mentioned she never heard of you...I said: "...hang on, he'll be famous, I will claim I know him..." Naturally she said.."Yeah right"
  18. Exactly. "Pistols". I think we are good.
  19. That was in our club mag. Not sure I would buy one, but the width is nice. Not a practical plinker to practice with
  20. Not sure WA limited to one....on the license itself: Quote:The person described hereon is licensed to carry concealed pistols as described by law.....

    Your CCW Setup

It may be OK for IWB. A little chubby, but with the right holster and body it would be a good carry weapon. Just as an adder to this thread, I stumbled across this: http://www.crossbreedseconds.com/index.php?sort=code&order=0 Tommy Theis is my fav, but I just found and ordered a Crossbreed 1911 Supertuck second for $43 delivered. It's kinda freaky because they only take cash
