  1. You guys sound about as anal here about your gun cleaning/lubing here as you do at BITOG about your cars! Take 'er home, shoot the $hit outa it, after a few 3-5 hundred round outings, when it acts like it may have some thickened pancake syrup in there somewhere, THEN pull the slide, hose her off with Brakleen, slather it down with whatever lube's handy and go again! MANUAL?? You boys can't figger out how a firearm works without readin' all them warnings, danger, etc., how do you ever manage something complicated like how vicegrips work ? Although, I really was glad the guy I bought my first SKS from took the time to show me how to get the trigger group out! Nothing about that system is as you would expect! Bob
  2. Best I can tell from the sucky pics, , You're not even approaching "flat" primers. Leveling the factory dome shape is perfectly normal even with light target 38spl loads. Bob
  3. Merry Christmas all, and , , , , EAT UP!!!!! Bob
  4. MOSTLY!!?? Sounds like a good reason to repair, sell, or trade! Bob
  5. Monsoon rains here. Not supposed to get below freezing. Bob
  6. Sold several over the years. A few I'd like to have back, but most were sold for very good reason. NEVER sold a gun to help through hard times, though have had several. Bob
  7. Most of those are designed for the 45 S. A. A., apt to feed really poorly in an auto. Seems I've seen load data (maybe in an older Lyman?) though. Bob
  8. One page in Arkansas Hunters Handbook says there are none in AR. Couple pages later it tells how illegal it is to kill one! Bob
  9. http://www.ccwsupply.biz/PurseHolstersPAGE.htm And another. Bob
  10. http://www.coronadoleather.com/browse.aspx?c=2&n=155252 Another source, several options. Advertise in American Rifleman a lot. Bob
  11. http://www.nrastore.com/nra/Products.aspx?cat=Womens'%20Gear Go to the source. Bob
  12. An old Python box can be worth $100. If it's the actual box, with matching #'s as your Python, together they may be worth a $200. premium (if the pistol's exta nice and just the least bit rare). One for a Rossi,,what do you think. Bob
  13. THREE COWBOYS ARE SITTING AROUND THE CAMPFIRE OUT ON THE LONESOME PRAIRIE; EACH WITH THE BRAVADO FOR WHICH HE IS FAMOUS. A NIGHT OF TALL TALES. THE GUY FROM MONTANA SAYS, "I MUST BE THE STRONGEST, MEANEST, TOUGHEST COWBOY THERE IS. WHY, JUST THE OTHER DAY, A BULL GOT LOOSE IN THE CORRAL.. IT HAD GORED SIX MEN BEFORE I WRESTLED IT TO THE GROUND BY THE HORNS WITH MY BARE HANDS AND CASTRATED THAT SUCKER WITH MY TEETH." THE GUY FROM OKLAHOMA COULDN'T STAND TO BE BESTED. THAT'S NOTHING, "I WAS WALKING DOWN THE TRAIL YESTERDAY AND A FIFTEEN FOOT DIAMONDBACK RATTLER SLID OUT FROM UNDER A ROCK AND MADE A MOVE FOR ME. I GRABBED THAT [censored] WITH MY BARE HANDS, BIT IT'S HEAD OFF AND SUCKED THE POISON DOWN IN ONE GULP AND I'M STILL HERE TODAY." THE COWBOY FROM Arkansas REMAINED SILENT, SLOWLY STIRRING THE CAMPFIRE COALS WITH HIS PECKER.
  14. Mostly have little appreciation of sentimental b. s. , as long as modification is done well enough that value stays the same, or increases. As long as mod improves looks, reliability, or accuracy. With about two trillion of 'em floating around, your MKII won't ever be any sort of "collectors item". Use it! Or, that could be a good reason to buy an additional MKII, or even try on one of them new MKIII's for size. Somebody makes a replacement grip panel with scope mount attached. Looks kinda Goldbergish. Bob
  15. Any version of the C. Z. bolt gun. Out of the box will group with an Annie at half the cost, while it may cost twice as much as a 10/22, you'll spend 3 times the cost of a 10/22 to get it to group as accurately, don't get more reliable than a bolt gun. Bob
  16. Make that supposed to headspace of the case mouth! If they're a bit short, or over crimped, they end up headspacing off the junction of the extractor and the rim. Bob
  17. Even Dillon's sometimes need a little help getting consistency! Bob
  18. "it makes me nervous to think of pulling that cotter pin and having 100 primers slide down the feeder tube to the bottom; it's the sudden stop they have to make that bothers me. Although I have not heard of any KB's associated with this particular system..." Crashbox Sounds much the same as my RCBS "Piggyback" primer tubes. I've allways GENTLY reached up inside tube from the bottom with a straightened paper clip untill it touches the bottom primer, then pulled the (factory) clip and eased them down with the paper clip without the sudden stop. Bob
  19. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lzri8dn7p0&feature=related REAL Handgun Recoil! Bob
  20. Some curse it, but I've allways had great results with Fed 550 bulk in my Ruger mkII. Bob
  21. Like to have one for a snake gun on my boat,,,but then the Corps of Engineers forbid that! Bob
  22. My Colt Anaconda(44 Mag). Pretty easy going till you load up some hot 300gr.! Not in any hurry to shoot any of the 455,500,etcs. Nothing to prove, and pretty pain shy if I have a choice. Bob
  23. Of the cheap bulk, my favorite's allways been the Federal 550 packs. Buy it all though, sooner or later I'll buy a gun that likes it! Bob
  24. HOWDY! Must be one a them Califorinians,,,,,,just ashamed to admit it! Bob
  25. Barrell replacement's a bit tricker. Unless it's fitted by a competent gunsmith, accuracy, reliability, and even safety will more than likely be compromised. Drop in bbls don't. Bob
