  1. Well I was gonna watch Netflix tonite...perhaps I need to watch some Nutnfancy vids. G-MAN how come you didn't comment on the new Kel-Tec shottie? Thought that would be right up your current alley?
  2. Ummm...based on looks the M&P takes it! The SR40 looks like one of those things they use at the grocery store to check prices. That or a staple gun... Actually I shouldn't say that I know better...cause pictures don't do either gun justice. In real life the M&P doesn't look near as fat and the SR9 is a really good looking gun once you get your paws wrapped around it.
  3. I didn't read the blog I just linked it because of the KPD pics...maybe I should have... Anyways I want this debate to end so I am conceding to you G-MAN. I stand corrected... The SR9 is not a Kimber design or product. It is merely convergent evolution as discussed previously... Phewww! Glad that's over with!
  4. When you look at the SR9 from the other side it definitely looks like a copy... http://hueysgunsight.blogspot.com/2010/09/ruger-sr9a-great-pistol-that-wont-kill.html Really though I don't know what I am on about as I had heard Ruger bought the design from Kimber... I thought it was fact and have been proven wrong. Now that I know it may or may not be true that it is a conspiracy I still don't care. The gun is a good one from what I have read and heard mostly. So I conjecture that the Ruger SR9 is a good gun...
  5. Wow that was a FAIL on my part! I read that so many times when researching the SR9 that I started taking it as fact. That is a simple human error and can be done by anyone but I don't wanna spread the myth anymore than the next guy... LOL Though I bet it is really true if you look at pics of the Kimber KPD and the Ruger SR9...somebody was copying somebody...or is it Convergent Evolution? Yah let's stick with that story! It was a cold rainy evening and Convergent Evolution occurred sometime after midnight... Or it could be just a case of Glock Mimicry!
  6. Nice Nice! I have heard that it is a soft shooting .40 I'm really surprised that the OP says it shoots softer than the M&P40. I would have to shoot both before I believed that...Edit: Just read that the Kimber/Ruger weighs 1.25 oz more than the M&P. That and a good design could surely contribute to softer recoil. Hmmm...maybe I should take another look at the SR40... Fun Fact: Kimber sold the design to Ruger. Edit: Internet conjecture! The SR9 feels really good in my hands and I will prolly be getting one soon...
  7. I never meant to imply that it was... I was saying I wouldn't shoot it but yet I shoot corrosive milsurp. It's Russian steel case. I know exactly what it is. There are three or four Russian companies that make or sell it. I get confused when keeping track of the manufacturers over there...I had heard that Herter's at Cabela's was/is the same stuff as this Tula that linked by the OP. I was thinking about ordering some Brown Bear in .223 because it is cheap but decided against it as I would rather spend a bit more and shoot ammo that is local to me. So I bought Hornady and Black Hills.
  8. She's prolly scouring the jungles of Central America to find the perfect tree...
  9. I wouldn't shoot it through my Glock but then again I shoot 8mm that was loaded in the late forties and early fifties through my Mauser...I don't know if there is any ammo besides black powder that is dirtier than the corrosive military surplus. Some reason though I wouldn't shoot that stuff in my Glock it's just too iffy in quality and I would rather spend that kind of money on reloading equipment and supplies...of which I need to start doing...
  10. Yah this Barry guy is a well of ballistic knowledge! Do it Pabs! Something to think about later down the road if you really wanna a conversation starter at the range! [setting] A shooting range in the pristine jungles of the Pacific Northwest... Random Dude: Hey where'd you get those fancy grips and what caliber is that Blackhawk? Pabs: Well lemme tell ya...
  11. Hmmm...I was thinking that gun would require moonclips to use a non-rimmed case... Please tell me the .38/.357 cylinder works!
  12. Pic from 2008 on Gunblast... http://www.gunblast.com/Esmeralda.htm Alright enough Esmeralda O'Sheehan...I've gotta go sale some of the wife's jewelery to buy a Blackhawk! BRB
  13. Wow the grips do look nice! I likey! I got to get a Blackhawk soon... I like those...plain and fancy at the same time...gorgeous! Oh yah about the counterbore...can you take the cylinder out of the gun and see if 9mm cartridges fit? I think the issue might be with the snap caps. Do the snap caps go through the Sig real nice?
  14. Here she is in 2003... http://www.esmeralda.cc/women_&_guns.htm Id say she looks a mid forties...a healthy 45!
  15. Yah! ^Now that baby would be drop dead sexy with stag horn grips...
  16. I agree Barry about not buying a gun or car or any product first production run...I did buy a Focus first production and regret it because for the simple reason that option packages made much more sense the next year... Kinda like the Gen 4 Glocks....so happy I got a gen 3...
  17. Dude! I seriously cannot look at anymore Blackhawks or grips today! I so so bad want a Blackhawk now! I need a .41 Magnum version though for sentimental reasons... Which grips did you get from Esmeralda? Oh yah about the snap caps...compare one to an actual 9mm shell...
  18. Wow 26oz is what the M&P40 weighs! The Sig should be a sweet shooter then provided the springs are still alive...
