  1. This month's Shooting Times has a review of 4 or 5 AR trigger set ups. They all seem pretty cool.
  2. I actually think the fat ones look dorky. The skinny ones do look coolish.
  3. An AR nut at works swears by them - but I'm not sure which model he likes.
  4. With the discovery of how darn well my Daniel Defense AR-15 shoots with 62gr ammo, I'm seeking the best deals out there. Open to links, tips, tricks and treats on 5.56 62gr. I know Palmetto State Armory free shipping is still on. What else is out there? TIA Paul
  5. Yeah maybe needed for polymer lowers!
  6. Of course .357Sig is everyone's nightmare. Most guys doing .223 blame their dies. I think maybe they have no way of checking the neck angle and radius, because this is where the screw ups happen. OAL, diameters are all fine. Necked area goofy.
  7. I've got my Daniel Defense M4V3 all mechanically hooked up how I want it as I break it in. I added some more rail covers, installed a MAGPUL BAD lever, a nice Battle Arms Dev. (BAD!) ambi safety lever, and an excellent Raptor charging handle. The best thing is the gun is accurate beyond my wildest dreams. Yet my work buddy and his magic smith are bugging me about these anti-rotation pins, which appear to be hammer and trigger pins locked together externally like this: http://www.rainierarms.com/?page=shop/detail&product_id=325 How critical do you guys think these are? Will my DD receiver wear out prematurely without these? On my buddies AR, they kinda stick up and bug me, but not hugely so.
  8. Right on. Thanks guys! The reason I ask - it seems .223 is tough round to reload, at least judging by the lousy stuff I've seen and read about.
  9. Two questions. What are the BEST .223 dies? What are the BEST LEE .223 dies?
  10. Good point. I was NOT thinking along those lines. I still haven't mounted anything on the rails.
  11. Beautiful, How does it shoot!
  12. He said the 10mm cases tend to bulge on one side, just below the seated bullet. We had maybe 3 of them (used brass) do this, I saw it - but three or four didn't seem like too many to me. He was excited that I supplied NEW Starline brass. This is a local club thing, the ammo user must install the propellant stay legal.
  13. Yeah the clean primed opened brass, (1000 were new brass) is put in holders, then with a RCBS crank charge measure I personal charged the appropriate amount and two guys check the charges. Bullets are then manually placed. Then with a Lee press with two dies, the bullets were seated and crimped, manually turning the head. With three of this it went pretty fast, but the main guy hates doing 10mm and says it goes slow.
  14. Great experience. Cool semi-manual safe method. 400 155gr JHP loaded pretty hot 1000 180gr FNFMJ warm-hot plinking loads. Accurate powder.
  15. Wow. First of all the gun is super accurate and WAY too much fun to shoot. I needed to dial the sights in a couple clicks because I changed the rear sight to an A.R.M.S. pop-up sight. Easy to service and clean. It shot all factory ammo fine, including three brands of Russian stuff with steel (coated and zinc) cases. I did have some jams with some out of spec small factory reloads. The gun jammed up tight. Boy did I learn quick to unjam an AR. I had to lever the bolt carrier back. The scary thing is I couldn't pull the charge handle back with enough force so I had to break the gun down to lever the bolt carrier. But the first time I discovered the problem - pull trigger,CLICK, no bang! But the round was not fully seated. Yikes! Glad it did not go BANG. The case just was not formed properly. The guy is giving me replacement rounds plus and extra fifty extra: http://bridgercustomammo.com/ He said he had a tooling issue. Anyway, I love the gun.
  16. Very cool - I've been wanting one.....it's on my list..... Fear not. Just shoot .44 Special. Or team up with someone who reloads and load some light .44 Special loads in .44Mag cases.
  17. I thought about that, and really didn't need any more weight up front. The rifle if light and perfectly balanced as is.
  18. Funny thing - I thought for sure rails in front of the front sight were too much rail. http://www.rainierarms.com/?page=shop/detail&product_id=1283
  19. I decided I really wanted a mid-length. http://www.rainierarms.com/?page=shop/detail&product_id=1848 I haggled. He wouldn't come down on price, but he threw in a bunch of stuff, plus changed the furniture over to OD.
  20. It is done. I bought a Daniel Defense, except a different model than above.
  21. That's what I was stuck on. My second AR-15 I will most likely built from parts and I mean about every piece.
  22. The Enhanced M400 comes with a PMag
  23. If I was retired I would build my own.
