I think the finger hole would be perfect to push the phone up. However, the opening could only be *slightly* rolled at the edges, otherwise the case might rub on the screen and cause scratches. I think the lifter would be an unnecessary complexity. The phone is a HTC Thunderbolt.. Would there be any way to make the carrier so it would swivel on the belt clip? Makes sitting in a chair or car much better. Wayne

Barry, I need something like this for my smart-phone. It needs to have a very strong belt clip that won't break or break off of the pouch when I catch it on something. It also needs to be rigid so that if I'm changing oil on a car etc. that if I roll onto the pouch it won't let force be applied to the phone and break the screen. Last, it needs to have a clip or fastener of some kind that won't let the phone fall out. Basically it needs to be a strong and tough phone protector. Nothing exists like this on the market today... Anyone use the XGrip extension? I would like to be able to use M&P 17 round magazines in my M&P 9c. I would think these would work very well, just wondered if anyone has used them? Thanks, Wayne

I just bought a case (5000) of CCI Mini-Mag copper plated round nose from our wholesaler for $245 - that's $0.049 each. That's a little more than the cheap 500-550 bulk packs, but I have virtually no trouble with the CCI 22LR's. That's a pretty good deal! Wayne

I have no idea if I can browse this website from work - I've never tried it and don't go to any non-work related sites from my work PC. It was interesting from the prospective that our club was probably the largest single site consumer of VP60's in the country. We are required to shoot steel and the VP60 became the wad almost everyone used. We noticed the problem with pierce gas seal domes and brought it to the distributor's attention, but at first they didn't really pay attention. When enough of us called to complain, they ran some tests and said, "I think we may have a problem as we were able to reproduce the piercing almost at will". That's not what they said verbatim, but pretty close. I just wish Helarco would start shipping the new wads to the US so we can start using them again. Wayne

I'm trying to find a M&P Pro (5" barrel) now and I believe the thumb safety isn't even an option on that model. I read a pretty good article in one of the popular shooting magazines that thumb safeties arguably make a handgun less safe to the shooter. Wayne

Below is the photo from week 2. We've had lots of rain here lately, of which you can see the results. I think I'll stop here, but ask all of you what would be a more realistic test? Having this much rust after only two weeks certainly shows the power of lots of moisture. Does anyone think I should keep the experiment going as is? Maybe I should shine the plate up again and try a bit less harsh environment? Any ideas where? Maybe in the house in a purposely humid environment? Wayne

Brueggma, Embarrassingly enough, I have never done anything to my 10/22, except put a cheap scope on it. I really should put this automatic bolt release on mine. The release would make it much easier for my kids to close the bolt after reloading. Wayne

Barry, The sliding wobble Annie Oakley goes like this. Sliding mean that you will step back to handicap yardage as the judge sees fit. I really don't see the point the 'sliding' back as it just makes it much harder for anyone to break a target. I prefer that everyone just stay at 16, then if the caller misses his target, he's usually shot out. Wobble means that the thrower is set on an arc like normal trap, but the vertical angle varies from straight out (skimming the weeds) to about 40 degrees. You have to hold below the top of the house, because if you hold high and get a low bird you won't see the bird. Getting a low bird on one pull, then a high bird the next really messes with the folks how shoot lots of regulation trap. Annie Oakley means that if the caller misses his target the person to his right can shoot at the target. If the person to the right breaks the target the caller is out. This is progressive, last night we had an instance when the person (lucky me) who broke the target shot 4 others out. If you shoot out of order, you're out. If you shoot at an already broken target, you're out. It's a ton of fun and can't wait to do it again... We had our annual turkey shoot last night at Naperville Sportsman's Club. Ten roosts in total with twenty shooters per roost. Lots of fun and I even won a couple!

I see what you're asking. The test formula has a much thinner viscosity, so I suspect it may not be able protect as well in these conditions. I think it's a slight discoloration from the beginnings of rust. Wayne

Pablo, It's a 10" sheet steel cutout from a factory back home in Iowa. We have used dozens of these for gong targets both close and long range. They make a beautiful ringing sound when hit with a rifle bullet at 400 yards! I shined it up with a wire wheel on my side-grinder to remove any rust from the surface. The mottled appearance is the rust just starting to form on the bare 1/3rd. We've had lots of rain the last couple days, so I expect changes by picture time this Saturday. Wayne

One mistake I made was lubing the rotary magazine.. Don't, it just makes a sticking mess.. Wayne

All, I'm going to do a test of CorrosionX and a corrosion/lube created by an acquaintance. I think it's pretty well understood that a metal plate that is exposed to the elements outside certainly isn't the same as guns locked in a safe.
