wwillson Posted November 17, 2009 Report Share Posted November 17, 2009 I've been looking for a way other than the silica gel packets to keep my gun safe dry. I found a silica gel dehumidifier the plugs into a 120v wall outlet to regenerate (force the water out of the silica gel). The brand name of the product I found is "Eva-Dry", search google you'll find it. Claims it can be regenerated thousands of times. Seems it would be much cheaper over time to use instead of the packets. Does anyone use this or something similar to keep your gun safe dry? Moe Posted November 19, 2009 Report Share Posted November 19, 2009 I use the Remington heating rod and the Remmy dehumidifier in both my safes. I have to plug in my dehumidifier once a month with the safe in the garage and every 3 months with the one in the house. So far---so good.
