  1. I've got my Daniel Defense M4V3 all mechanically hooked up how I want it as I break it in. I added some more rail covers, installed a MAGPUL BAD lever, a nice Battle Arms Dev. (BAD!) ambi safety lever, and an excellent Raptor charging handle. The best thing is the gun is accurate beyond my wildest dreams.

Yet my work buddy and his magic smith are bugging me about these anti-rotation pins, which appear to be hammer and trigger pins locked together externally like this:

How critical do you guys think these are? Will my DD receiver wear out prematurely without these?

On my buddies AR, they kinda stick up and bug me, but not hugely so.

  2. I know you aren't doing this, Pablo, but I wanted to share a little observation anyway:

While mounting a light at 12:00 sounds like a great idea, the problem is the barrel causes a shadow to be cast across the bottom of the illuminated area. This shadow can cover a pretty large area. If holding someone at gunpoint with such a rifle, this shadow almost always falls over the hands- about the last place I want it.

Good point. I was NOT thinking along those lines. I still haven't mounted anything on the rails.

  3. Yeah the clean primed opened brass, (1000 were new brass) is put in holders, then with a RCBS crank charge measure I personal charged the appropriate amount and two guys check the charges. Bullets are then manually placed. Then with a Lee press with two dies, the bullets were seated and crimped, manually turning the head. With three of this it went pretty fast, but the main guy hates doing 10mm and says it goes slow.

  4. Wow. First of all the gun is super accurate and WAY too much fun to shoot. I needed to dial the sights in a couple clicks because I changed the rear sight to an A.R.M.S. pop-up sight. Easy to service and clean.

It shot all factory ammo fine, including three brands of Russian stuff with steel (coated and zinc) cases. I did have some jams with some out of spec small factory reloads. The gun jammed up tight. Boy did I learn quick to unjam an AR. I had to lever the bolt carrier back. The scary thing is I couldn't pull the charge handle back with enough force so I had to break the gun down to lever the bolt carrier. But the first time I discovered the problem - pull trigger,CLICK, no bang! But the round was not fully seated. Yikes! Glad it did not go BANG. The case just was not formed properly. The guy is giving me replacement rounds plus and extra fifty extra:

He said he had a tooling issue.

    Anyway, I love the gun.

  5. Very cool - I've been wanting one.....it's on my list.....

Fear not. Just shoot .44 Special. Or team up with someone who reloads and load some light .44 Special loads in .44Mag cases.
