I've never owned one. But almost bought one. My only real input is most folks are happy with them and they can be very serviceable and even modded up nicely. I like the under $500 part!
-
Saw one at the local show yesterday. I guess not my cup of tea. Pretty gaudy and seem a little cheapie. I'll take my traditional steel blue bull with cocobolo grips.

You don't like it because you don't like the premise or because you don't like S&W? Or something else.
The concept is fine. I think my Kahr CM9 is smaller but I could be wrong. I'll do my homework on new S&W products, which means waiting a few years to see the feedback. That Bodyguard 380 left a very bitter taste.

Thoroughly underwhelmed.
M&P OK Maybe. New S&W? Meh, no thanks.

Throw some colored wood grips on there and you'd have something. Threaded barrel is a good thing, I'd like to see how it's constructed.

I use my laser mainly for dry fire practice! It's very helpful for me to see if I'm moving the dot when I squeeze the trigger.
I tried using the laser once during some self defense type training / shooting. The drills basically involved pulling the firearm up and shooting immediately, both while stationary and moving. I barely even saw the sights or the dot from the laser! It was simply point and shoot muscle memory. My total focus was on the target and there was really no time to aim in the traditional sense. This was a bit of an eye opener for me.
Good post. With a DA trigger a laser is great for training. I do the same thing!

That lever rifle has a seriously long barrel.
But no tacticool rails.
I'll have you guys know I have 3 lever actions. And I'm still dying to know who that is.

That's Pablo and his custom Model 94 in .357 Sig Magnum at the private shooting club.
Those were more simple times.
G-man's quizzes are extremely challenging to me!

Got my shipping confirmation. Gun arrives at FFL this Friday.

Is this REALLY a 10mm MAGNUM??
Anyway the guy said he would ship my pistol....Thur or Friday. No evidence of that yet.
-
I had forgot you ordered this. Do you have it?
The FFL who ordered it for me is on a safari right now. :duh:
Don't ask.

What you say makes total sense. And exactly what I was thinking. No one will get their Glock this hot in a defensive situation. Glocks are OK and I like my two choices, but let's face it plastic does have it's strengths and weaknesses. I doubt I'll buy another Glock, but you never know.
I just never see people talking about droopy plastic. I do see quite a few people with lasers at the indoor range - and I doubt they think about this kinda thing and frankly it caught me by surprise. I own a total of one laser, the green one, right now it's on my Colt Rail Gun. My Streamlight is on my FNP-45 which, yes, who cares if it gets a little floppy.

The check got to FL from WA really quickly and cleared right away. But he has not said a peep about it.
-
He cashed the check and it has now cleared. Hope to have him ship very soon!!!

Yes at the show. Our shows have decent ammo prices, gun prices vary greatly.
-
Wow - thanks for the hard work. Do you need any cash for gas?
-
That would be cool. How are the ammo and gun prices in general?
-
A guy here has them here for $350
-
Gunbroker was about the only place. Local I saw one beater.
I've been in touch with the guy.....sent the FFL stuff. I have not had a second reply.
-
I'll need to go through all the going and getting a money order, having the FFL fax the info, paying for shipping and full sales tax and FFL fees - then all the headache and waiting while it ships (I've yet to have a GB seller ship right away after getting the money). Give it a good 2-3 weeks.
-
Bought one on GunBroker.

Tell those guys to man up and load small primer .45 as well.
Sort it while watching a ball game or something.

Pablo,
Are you using these as practice rounds? Hoping to force the S&W to cycle correctly? :-)

I dumped the S&W. Worst gun I ever touched - in fact the only gun I've ever gotten rid of. It's for the Sig P238. I've a ton of practice 380, this ammo is for carry. If I'm carrying the little beast, I want to have the best ammo I can have in it.
Help me find a S&W 1006

FINALLY - picked up my 1006 yesterday. The exterior is a little more beat than I anticipated, but the guts and the barrel don't look all that used. Almost like it sat in a junk drawer for years and years. Stripped it down (this guys must have been an oil nut....oil EVERYWHERE). I will clean it up nicely and give it a go in the next two weeks.
