wwillson
My cousin and I just got back from a fun time shooting prairie dogs in Faith, SD. This video is a sweep of the area we were shooting. Bill_in_Utah
Nice! One of these days I've GOT to go out there with the 24" and spent some time. How many rounds this time between you and your brother?
wwillson
About 1,500 rounds in 5 hours of shooting.. :-) I can't wait to go back!Wayne

BarryinIN
I finally watched it. It looks a lot more vegetated than parts of SD I saw when I was a kid. And I've seen Sue.
wwillson
Barry,This year they had much more rain than usual, hence the vegetation. Last year the prairie dogs had the ground pretty much eaten bare.Wayne
xtell
Wayne, Good to hear you had a fun shoot. What load did you finally settle on? I know you were working up / testing loads earlier this year.xtell
wwillson
xtell,I ended up shooting the rest of my IMR4064 25.5g behind a 55g BTSP loads. Really a great load, but the 4064 doesn't meter the best on a progressive press. I'm about to buy some H-335 (unless there is a better suggestion?)Wayne
Bill_in_Utah
Wayne, Try some Accurate 2230 (get just a pound) and see if you like it. I sure do and its all I use in the AR-15//223 loads now. I've got the SAME photo looking at the river when I left your area going to Rapid City SD last year. I'll have to see if I can find it. Looks fun! Someday.. Bill PS: Found it! Great minds think alike? (at 75mph)
BarryinIN
I like 4064 for a lot of things, but it is a pain to use.Varget works for everything I use 4064 in and is a lot easier to meter so I use it a lot more. Usually Varget will be a little more accurate but sometimes 4064 wins. Still, I only bother with 4064 when I really want every scrap of accuracy, like the .220 Swift. In the .223, I like Varget. H335 will usually be a little faster, at least until the bullets start getting heavy. I've never used 2230. Win 748 does well, but can be dirty.
