i think it is .75" too long, seems to meet the rest of the criteria.

Don't overlook the Savage 10 FCM Scout. Going in the $650 range around here.

Does it seem to be holding up to the 300 RUM pretty well? I have an old Bushnell on one of my 300 Rum's and it is starting to loose zero after about 5 shots, so it's on the back burner to get a new scope.

Nice!

If the die is more than 2 years old you may be charged. If a new dies are in order, might check THESE out.

Same here...Thanks Wayne

Thanks Barry!

As with most everything in life one size never fits all, but if I were limited to only one rifle, a scout type rifle would likely be my choice. Being a Savage fan however, I would opt for the model 10 FCM Scout. Coming in at less than half the price of the Steyr I would feel as though I were getting a great value as well. Just my 2 cents...

He was featured on American Rifleman TV last year, great story.

A guy I know made some 3-D humanish targets and had balloons in the center. A string supported the target and ran through an opening and was tied to that balloon. If you broke the balloon, the target then slipped down off the string onto the ground. As it hung there, it swung so the angle to the balloon changed constantly.
Even though we knew more or less where the balloon was, it was still a job hitting it. And that motion is nothing like a person running around shooting at you.
This is one reason why I'm not all that surprised when people empty their guns and get one or two hits.
I saw the exact same target demonstrated on The Best Defense TV show last week. Pretty nifty training device.

I checked my records today and my 12BVSS will shoot 5 shot groups @100 yards that measure .314. My "worst" group from one of my Savages came from an entry level Pre-AccuTrigger model 110 in .223 and it measured .622, again that was a 5 shot group, and I could likely tighten those groups up a little by getting serious about working up more handloads for them.

I have a 12BVSS in 22-250,it is the most accurate of all my Savages and that is saying something because I haven't owned a Savage in the last 10 years that didn't shoot 3/4 inch 5 shot groups @100 yards, or better, out of the box, with my handloads.
The AccuTtigger is better than just pretty decent, I actually prefer it to the Timney's I have in some of my Remingtons.

I ordered a 92 in 454 Casull from my gun shop in late December and it came in around the end of January, I ended up not buying it because I didn't care for the rough action.

Oop's.. but yeah, I agree with my original statement..Nice work!

What's the story on the Model 19 Gary, did you have it refinished?
-
My brother bought 500 rounds of BVAC in 357 some time back, I shot some of it at his place and like Gary said, a little dirty, but it performed well.

You guys be sure and check the date of my original post.
Got me on that one! I don't know how I missed this post? Anyway, still looks great, hard to beat Colt bluing.
-
Looks like it is in excellent shape! I never did care for the exposed ejector rod though.

Congrats Pablo! I don't mind the rails myself and if you like it that's all that matters anyway.

I broke the gun down and gave it a good cleaning and a tiny bit of lube then I ran 100 rounds of my old handloads from 10-12 years ago through it and it performed flawlessly. I have not owned anything in 45acp for several years now, but I suppose I am going to have to knock the dust off my 45 dies and get some rounds made up.
I ran 50 rounds through the Ruger as well, no surprises, it is just like all my other Ruger revolvers in that it could use a trigger job.

No kisses were given, but I kinda hurried up with the exchange before he changed his mind.

I read about that gun years ago, pretty impressive really.

Savage model 93
Stevens model 305
I think the Ruger model 77/22 is still available in 22mag?

A wood stock would put it over the weight limit for sure, besides the AccuStock is a very nice platform.
Barry, what kind of failures could the rifle have had? I find that very very puzzling? I don't own a Savage scout, but I do own many other Savage rifles from pre AccuTrigger on up and I have never had a failure of any kind.
