Were there any firearm failures Barry?

Stories like those make me feel fortunate that all I have to do is drive 2 miles up the road to my families property where I have 200 acres all to myself.
-
I looked at one when I bought my Saiga rifle, so yes they are still importing them.
-
I asked a couple of my buddies from the trap club, and they asked around at the club, and nobody has experienced or heard of this?
-
I don't think you will be disappointed Pablo! This is for sure one of the best values out there as far as firearms go.

Well, I put 300 rounds through it today, will finish off the rest of the can tomorrow. I was really surprised at how solid this gun felt, going in I was really expecting it to be loose and sloppy like all the Romanian AK's I've fired before.
Accuracy is acceptable for a WTSHTF gun at around 4" @ 100 yards, didn't measure it, just estimated. Didn't have one failure of any kind, worked flawlessly. I am seriously considering buying another one of these.

I picked this one up today, just field stripped and cleaned it. I plan on putting at least a spam can of ammo through it this weekend.

I wonder if anyone makes a wood rpl stock for Saigas. I can vaguely recall such an image in my mind, but it could be something like a Valmet from 30 years ago that never saw production, or some such scattered memory.
A wood-stocked Saiga- I think Pablo might like that.
I believe TimberSmith makes wood furniture for the Saiga. Personally, for a SHTF rifle, I would prefer synthetic to wood.

It looked like American Chopper with guns.
That is exactly what I was going to say.
I never cared for Top Shot either.
There are several "gun" shows I watch on The Outdoor Channel and The Sportsman Channel that I find much more informative and entertaining.

I have a model 512, very similar to the 510 except mine is tube fed. I am not aware of any issues with these rifles. Mine was passed down to me from my father, who bought it new when he was a teenager. It is still my go to squirrel gun, very accurate.

I have never heard of the receiver cracking on an 870 before, let alone on "several". I know quite a few trap guys from the local club and I will definitely ask them if they know of this happening.

Thanks for the input guy's, Barry, I always enjoy reading your posts, I always pick up some good info. I picked up the gun this evening, not sure if it will be my carry gun or not, as I am a staunch revolver guy. The trigger is going to take some getting used to.
Here are some pics:
He even threw in a couple of holsters..

I was thinking maybe a timing issue, but if it does not happen with snap caps or from dry firing then perhaps it is the ammo? I would try some different ammo first.
I am assuming you have given the gun a thorough cleaning.
What BOLT action .308 should I get?
