If the big event scheduled for Tuesday goes the way I hope, I have a feeling some won't be as pleased. I think some won't just say "Oh well, there's always next time". Things could get nasty during the night of the 6th/7th. Rioting out here in Hooterville is about as unlikely as the sun coming up in the west, but if the big electric cord gets cut somewhere else, we will be sitting in the dark just the same. I plan on filling up the cars Tuesday, we have food and candles on hand, and the kerosene lamps and Coleman stoves are in working order. I just came home from the hardware store (that's a throwback to a country store from about 1940) getting a few odds and ends like lamp wicks and Coleman pumps. I spent less than $20, and feel it could make a difference in comfort should bad things happen. Just throwing it out there as a public service in case someone wants to do the same.
