My main objective was to qualify, so I took the gun with which I was most accurate.

Solar and wind farm power generation is truly great
I would love to be generating my own power. When it becomes a bit more efficient and affordable I'll be all over it.

I used a Leupold 3-9x40 that I had left over from a rifle I sold.

I would suggest that just when building your bench,just when you think it is big enough go a little bigger.

I too am in SW Ohio and I pay $0.066 per kwh.

Just pay close attention to overall length, never seat the bullet too deep so you don't get unsafe pressure increases.

Mine was full of grease as well. I added a Houge Handall grip sleve to mine and it really helped.

Don't get me wrong Moe, I'm not trying to down Remington, in fact two of my best shooting rifles are Rem 700's.
I just happened to have a bolt handle break, granted I dropped the rifle directly on it, but it still leaves a bad taste in your mouth,and one extractor give me problems.

Both the carbines and the handguns are +P rated, I have fired hundreds of my own handloads loaded to +P velocities with no issues whatsoever in my 995 carbine.

I used to be a big Remington guy, in fact most of my rifles are Remington. I just came to dislike the flimsy extractors and the brazed on bolt handles.
Mauser 98, of course. Really bums me out that the "real deal" has never been made in a lefty!Ruger makes a left hand M77 with the Mauser style claw extractor (CRF).

Thanks for the input, ended up with a set of Warne bases and Burris sig zee rings. Now I gotta get this put together and send some rounds down range!

Well, that's how it should be, but since I quit smoking I allocate the money I would have wasted on cigarettes for something firearms related and since Christmas is at the end of the year, that's when I use it.
Since cigarettes are about $5 a pack around here the Christmas presents have been getting better and better!

For the last several years at least, my favorite has been Savage, for two reasons
1.Accuracy
2.Price

Congrats on the purchase GMAN, I too have a P95 and it is ultra reliable. I have not had any issues with this gun and I have put thousands of rounds through it.

Bahh, Ford, Chevy.... Actually,for years I used to be a regular spectator at the Grand American when it was held just up the road from me in Vandalia, and I saw a lot more P-guns than K-guns.
I am guessing that had more to do with economics than with quality though.

I think a 180gr is a very good match for Midwestern whitetail. I agree that a 220gr is way too much for deer in your neck of the woods, but we have some giants around here and 180gr would be just the ticket.

I bought this M85 for the wife for conceal carry, she then decided she would rather have the Ruger SP101 in 357 for her CC gun, now the Taurus resides in her nightstand.
I also own a model 607 in 357 and a Raging Bull in 454 Casull, all of which are very good guns. From my experience there were a few years there in which the QC was suspect at Taurus, seemed like 04 to around 08 I handled lots of Taurus revolvers that had timing issues and just poor fit and finish.
