Bushmaster Varminter barrel threaded by AWC in AZ

I had my Bushmaster Varminter 24" barrel threaded to accept a muzzle brake. The threads were machined by AWC Systems Technology in Phoenix, AZ. I removed the barrel from the upper and the gas tube/block from the barrel, so I could ship them the bare barrel. It took about 6 weeks to get it back, which is what they said it would be.

They did what I would call an incredible job. They returned the barrel with a screw-on thread protector. With the thread protector on the barrel, it looks like nothing has been done - no visible line, gap, or anything. In fact, I showed barrel to two of my friends who have considerable experience running machine lathes and both said it was an exceptionally high quality job.

I just wish suppressors were legal in Illinois (did you click the link?)!
