Larue Tactical Is The Best

In contrast to my recent and ongoing Nikon experience, let me tell you about my latest Larue Tactical experience.

For those who don't know, Larue is best known for QD throw lever optics mounts...that actually work. They also make some of the very best ARs, a really nice self-resetting sniper target, iron sights, railed forends, and other odds and ends. They also sell other makers products, and have great deals when you buy, for example, an Aimpoint with one of their mounts.

I'm throwing them a lot of praise because they deserve it. They send boxes and boxes of stuff to our troops worldwide. I really don't know how such a small company can afford it. I know they sell a lot of gear to these same people (and to people like me because of it) but the amount they give is amazing. You won't find them on their website, but I've seen pictures of containers full of Larue goodies being passed out to troops. Not just their $10 armadillo-shaped bottle openers, but $200 scope mounts.

So what did they do for me?

Last week, I ordered one of the QD bases for the Leupold Prismatic. This is one of their simplest mounts, so only ran $79 which might be their lowest price item besides decals and stuff. Not a big order.

The box came a while ago, and it was bigger than I expected. It was heavier and rattled more than I expected too. I opened it to see this:

All spread out, is this:

Clockwise from 12:00- Two bumper stickers, "Dillo Dust" dry rub, their famous "Dillo" beverage entry tool, a pocket Constitution, a DVD of the 10th Annual Larue International Sniper Competition, with the scope base in the center.

I come up with $47 worth of stuff (if I had ordered it), plus the Dillo Dust I don't think you can order. Call it over $50 worth of extras for buying a $79 item. And from past experience with them, I will probably get more for Christmas.

It pays to buy from them.

If you can imagine, they are even more generous to our fighting men and women.

Keep them in mind when you need anything. I sure do.

Did I say Larue is the best? Did I say I like Larue?

I like them more now.

Hot off the email: Larue pulls a Barrett.

NEWS RELEASE:

02/08/2012 LEANDER, TX.

Updated Policy for State and Local Agency Law Enforcement Sales:

Due to the recent and numerous new Anti-gun/Anti-2nd Amendment laws passed and/or pending across our country, LaRue Tactical has been forced to reconsider how we provide products to state and local agencies.

Effective today, in an effort to see that no legal mistakes are made by LaRue Tactical and/or its employees, we will apply all current State and Local Laws (as applied to civilians) to state and local law enforcement / government agencies. In other words, LaRue Tactical will limit all sales to what law-abiding citizens residing in their districts can purchase or possess.

State and local laws have always been a serious focus of this firm, and we are now dovetailing that focus with the constitutional rights of the residents covered in their different areas by the old and new regulations.

We realize this effort will have an impact on this firm's sales - and have decided the lost sales are less danger to this firm than potential lawsuits from erroneous shipments generated by something as simple as human error.

Thanks in advance for your understanding.

Mark LaRue
