I have used 748 with good results on 55 to 62 gn bullets i have some 77gn SMK and several lbs of TAC it seems to be the way to go . This link to calguns has an interesting info reloading 5.56 with Medium to heavy weight bullets .

I have noticed that as well over the years. The companies must set up the machines and do production runs .Yah Ruger definitely makes things in waves...my buddy has been waiting six months for an Alaskan in .454... -
Last summer there was a used Ruger Blackhawk ,the smaller one in 45 acp and 45 long colt . I almost bought it for my wife because she likes single action pistols. But I after some thought I did not want to bring her shooting with me when I go shooting, I need the man time at the range talking about guns and cars in between making noise.

I have had a safe since the 1980s and what I found about safes is check with you accountant as you may be able to deduct the safe because you store your tax papers/buisness papers in it. I would worry about the electronic lock. and bet the next size bigger of down the road buy another. To divide you things between two locations. You end up putting other valuables or keepsakes in it. Then bolt it securely to the floor and or wall to make it harder for the safe to get stolen. Also the safe is a long term purchase so take a little while longer to look at others. Made in USA and the high quality locks pay off.

I have a Garand that just sits in the safe I will look at it, think about it, then put it back in the safe for the next time I want look at it. I am in a process of selling all my rifles "the 30 caliber ones" and most likley keeping my favorite 22 L.Rs. I have the most fun with pistols. I have been shootng one of my friends 338 Lapuas Some kind of Rem 700 series? as I am sure I have mentioned and I like it better and shoot it better for some strange reason than any of my rifles. ut I most likly will try to pick a 223 bench rest or varmit type of rifle after I sell off the 30 caliber rifles.

I purchased my firsr AR15 in 1973 more of less a Colt it worked well ,then I sold it and purchaced an Olympic arms "I think" with the collapsable stock and the 11 inch barrel with the 5" permantly attached flash hider . It looked cool but it sucked so I sold it and bought another Colt Heavy barrel AR15 and it worked flawless. Then I sold it at the first Calif. Assult weapon ban at a good profit . Then later I bought 2 AR15 heavy barrels and sold then at the second round of Calif assult weapons ban at a good profit . Now I have 2 more AR15s with what they call in Calif off list lowers with all the best parts I learned the best parts make the best rifles from the Olyimpic arms I bought and sold a long time ago. I am sure I will sell last 2 as well these as well . ARs are really easy to sell . Why did I post this blather? The Ar series of carbines and rifles are so easy to shoot well. It seems I can pick up one every 5 years and with in seconds feel like I have been practicing every day the ergonomics are great. I really like ARs . Though I have no passion for them . Gun love is different.

I bought a used XD tactical 40 S@W used last summer and it works really good. If you like the feel and the price is right, 40s are good to have.

I would consider a stainless one first choice but blue works especially is the deal is better.

A 308 is more than enough for hogs .

I have to add the short mags aren't a handicap when shooting the compact models I wrap the little finger under the mag and I am good to go.

I was given a 9mm XD compact 3 years ago by a friend and I like the feel so well that I bought a 40 XD sub compact. "Other than my son put dibs on the 9mm" That being said the XD is clunky feeling and bulky the XDm seems to have the bulk trimmed off. The trigger on the 3 XDs I own, "I also bought a tactical model 5" barrel" are all good enough and I really enjoy shooting them. They are not like a Dan Wesson Pointman or to a Wilson Combat in anyway but they are on sale always and can be picked up cheap. I am not impressed with Springfield Armory as a company they sell overpriced stuff for what you get.
imo I wouldn't pay list price for an XD. Cheap guns are great for purposes that they can get beat up in. I have looked at the S@W M@Ps they feel really good and S@W has always been a great company service wise. The M@Ps shorter in the grip which is an area where concealed carry could make it an advantage. I CCW an Airweight beause it is so small.
what stopped me from buying a M@P is the way the trigger is made. Though it seems to not be a problem in use. so which ever feels best and has the price that makes you want to give the seller the money buy it . With all guns you can learn to work with any given to you. If you have a choice the feel in your hand,the pointability and and how it shoots is what makes choose a gun. Probably the nicest pistol I have ever had in hand, feeling and accuracy etc has been a S@W M99.

I have always heard that I do not think the recoil or snap is something to worry about. I have shot an XD subcompact in 9mm and 40 S@W side by side and yeah a 180 gn .Might be LE trade-ins...The .40 is a superb round. It does have a "snappy" recoil though...It really surprised me the first time I fired my G23!

I love my 22/45 it is my go to gun when ever I go shooting .I like it more than any other pistol I have ever shot "almost". The MK series is the same but with a different grip angle and a metal frame that is in my heart a better material for a firearm but plastic is cheaper. Always get the target model what ever 22 you get. The S@W M@P would be especially good if you have or planned on getting a centerfire M@P.

so apt a short review for a short pistol!!! Ruger seems to have a winner with the SR series. Ruger doesn't just copy they improve.

I try to never buy the first year or two production of anything. Especially Keltech,though I have a ca16su The ne with the heavier barrel and it actually works pretty good though I don't care for the field stripping procedure.

The thing about 1911s are,,, The really nice ones are really expensive. I know!!. Ammo wise 9mm and 40 S@W are easier to get and way cheaper than 45 acp. You can get a cheap 1911 that works O.K. But when you get into the Dan Wesson or Wilson Combat levels there is a biggggg difference . Kinda like driving a Ferrari on a windy road as compared to a 59 V.W. been there done that! IMO unless you want a real nice 1911 get a plastic auto which will do every thing the 1911 will do except cost at least a third of the cost. plastic guns are east to fix modify and repair. Again there is nothing like shooting a really nice 1911. In any caliber.

A tumbler is really nice to use. I have done simple green and water it is ok . Rinse the brass and put them into the oven 250* F till dry.
