BarryinIN
I never had a class from him, so only knew of him by reputation. For those who do not know of him, he was based in FL but taught all over and for lot of training outfits. He was in the circle of people like Yancey Harrington, James Yeager, "Southnarc", and Tom Givens. I got this email last night:It is with great sadness that I have to let everyone know that PaulGomez is dead.I don't know anything concrete, just some rumors. Preliminaryindications are that it was related to his diabetes but this isn'tconfirmed. I was told that Paul was headed to Canada to teach and wasdenied entry. He was not heard from after returning to the U.S. andhad been reported missing for several days.Paul was foremost scholar of the firearms training business. If youneeded to know something esoteric, he knew the answer. I had calledPaul on several occasions and he always gave his expertise freely. Our conversations were never brief and he really helped me implementgood programs for my people. Folks may argue about this, but Paul wasat the bleeding edge of the tactical medicine and was one of theforemost people to push it into the private citizen sector. The void that he leaves is huge.
