  1. Gman, I don't think any state requires your CCW gun to be the one you qualify with. I know NC doesn't. If you need to qualify with your CCW weapon, what happens when you want a different one? Re-qualification? I've seen people qualify with .22 hand guns and they'll flat out tell you it was because the gun they're going to carry is not the one they're proficient with. Then there are the ones that qualify with .500 S&W's and carry .22 pocket pistols.

  2. As for vacuums. Suck through, the filter types, (any shop vac and many houshold types) are ok to pick up powder. The old Kirby, through the impeller and then into the bag type are not.

Carpet? I put a short pile area rug under my bench to keep dropped things from going too far when they hit the floor. It may be because my reload work area is on a slab, but I've yet to notice any static build up from it.

    Link to users bench pics.

  3. Let's think about that.

Kitty litter= crushed chunks of clay and other "stuff". Toss it into a vibrating bowl with a bunch of hard brass thingys. Open the vibrating thingy and I'm sure that's the last load of brass you polish with kitty litter.

Ever sand drywall compound? That's what you'll end up with, a big dust cloud. Unless you use something, (mineral spirits?)to keep the dust down.

  4. Yep. In the final clean/polish operation. It cleans the residue off and seems to help the brass stay shiny longer while it's in storage. I put the brass in the bowl first, then the corn cob. switch the bowl on for a few seconds to settle the corn into the brass. Then about a teaspoon of New Finish artfully drizzled on the top of the corn and close it up and turn it on for about 1-2 hours.

Yes, that is also a can of Brasso. The wife has some small cast brass figurines and other stuff that I use that on. and toss them in with the pistol brass when I do it. gets all those nooks and crannies nice and shiney.
