Nope, it's jammed on there. The hole is .43" diameter, and the flange on the spout is .44" There's a jam nut on the bottom for tension.

Save yourself the trouble, get some distilled water.

Don't tap on the valve rod, the spout may fall off.

Do you ladle after getting a bottom pour pot?

I haven't ladle cast since getting my bottom pour. But the spout fell off.
