wwillson Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 I just bought a case (5000) of CCI Mini-Mag copper plated round nose from our wholesaler for $245 - that's $0.049 each. That's a little more than the cheap 500-550 bulk packs, but I have virtually no trouble with the CCI 22LR's. That's a pretty good deal!Wayne Quote
Pablo Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 Nice. I consider CCI 22LR top shelf .22.I'm a little addicted to the extradirtystinky Aquila-Tenex hypervelocity stuff, so I save my CCI for clean shooting. Quote
BarryinIN Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 Good deal. I was just pricing cases of .22 ammo and I think Mini-Mags were running $260-275 range. It's nice to have a lot on hand, that works, so you don't have to think about anything but grabbing some and going shooting.I find I have to switch brands now and then. They all have problems at one time or another. I used Remington Target for a while as my general shooting round, then Winchester T22 for a long time, then Fed Hi-Vel, etc. I have been lucky and the cases I've got have been mostly good. I'd hate to buy a case just as that maker started a downhill QC slide. Quote
xtell Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Wayne,I need to go shopping with you!!! I've had good luck with the standard velocity CCI 22LR's. I find them ALMOST as accurate as Wolf Match Target ammo out of my CZ 452 rifle. Quote
steves Posted September 21, 2013 Report Posted September 21, 2013 I shoot the cheap bulk packs when pistol plinking but higher quality 22s are really higher quality when trying to see what the rifle can do. Quote
Pablo Posted September 21, 2013 Report Posted September 21, 2013 Thread date!!I'm still milking the crates of .22LR I bought in the 1980's!! Quote
BarryinIN Posted September 21, 2013 Report Posted September 21, 2013 I shot my first BR-50 match last weekend. They were all making fun of my Eley ammo with price tags of $2.91. Quote
wwillson Posted September 30, 2013 Author Report Posted September 30, 2013 Almost two years later, I called the wholesaler I buy from to see if he has any 22LR in the warehouse. He laughed when I asked. Hopefully he will have some in the next few months as I'm almost out. Quote
xtell Posted September 30, 2013 Report Posted September 30, 2013 Wayne, Locally, Northern Ohio, I've been seeing powder, bullets and primers coming back in stock. Seems like the only ammo in short supply is 22 rimfire. When it is in stock, the kind I use, CCI standard velocity is double in price from last fall. Common caliber ammo is available about 1-1/2 times as high as last fall.I used to laugh at the high price of Weatherby ammo. Now the other brands / calibers have caught up. Quote
