Leather Care

Recommended Posts

I ruined an expensive holster once with neatsfoot oil. Oils tend to soften the leather---which you don't want in a holster. I've had good luck with good ole shoe polish over the years.

Thanks - that is good advice right there!

I did three coats of brown shoe polish wax. VERY nice results. One Bianchi holster was set for the garbage can it was so nasty. I cleaned and degrimed it with the worry I may be doing irreparable harm. It came clean and dried nicely but still looked very rough. The wax darkened it just a bit, but worthwhile trade - each coat after polishing took away visible scratches.
