wwillson
In Illinois we are just starting to see an increase in availability. However, it's still hit or miss whether you can find them. It is better than six months ago when there were simply none to be found anywhere around here. How is it in your area?
Bill_in_Utah
Very poor. If you can find them expect to pay $33-$40 per brick of 1000. And if you do, they limit you to a brick total of ANY type. Bill

woodsoup
My local dealer had a bunch in the cabinet yesterday. All brands and types, except match, to boot.

RLH70
Wonder if prices will ever go back to pre-Obama levels?
Bill_in_Utah
Here I still can not find most primers. Lucky to find large pistol ones for $34 a brick. Everything else is still MIAI have not seen a small rifle primer in stock here for over a year now. Last time I did see them (June 2008) they were $19 a brick. Wonder if prices will ever go back to pre-Obama levels? Nope. Cost to do business has increased and with the clown and his idiots making stupid rules (laws require congress) the cost to produce, inventory and such will make us WISH for $34 per thousand primers. Glad I stocked up when they were $9 a brick. But someday I'll run out... Bill
wwillson
I visited one of the local gunshops yesterday, looking for .223 reloading components. They had 1000 small rifle primers for $50/1000! I passed on them and will try finding them somewhere cheaper.Wayne
Bill_in_Utah
Local shop here got some in (I was there when the truck arrived) and I picked up 5000 small rifle for $22 per 1000. Also got 2000 small pistol for same price. Still too much but I figure they will never get lower. $50! Wow.. Someone is making some profit! wwillson
The shop where I found these primers is new, huge, and has the most beautiful indoor range I have ever seen. Too bad the prices are staggeringly high, most shooters I know around here won't even go into the place because it's so over-priced.

On the other hand, the place I went is a little shop (they do quite a bit of gun sales) that has a range under the store. Its not the prettiest...I understand they have to pay for new stuff but when prices are already high thanks to the salesman of the year and add in a less than stellar economy... It will be tough. wwillson
The Scheels in Iowa City, Iowa had thousands of SR, LR, SP, LP, and shotgun primers today. The shelves were as stocked as I've seen in 18 months.Wayne
