wwillson
When I first started casting and shooting lead bullets, I asked a friend of mine (experienced shooter) what is the best way to clean leading from my barrel? He said to get an awl or dental pick and scrape the leading out. Folks, experience is the best teacher. DO NOT put anything made of carbon steel into your barrel to clean the lead out! I learned the hard way and scratched a .45 1911 barrel. This method works like a champ! Wayne
JSharp
I've had to use a small pick before. I made sure it was softer than the barrel, a BarSto that's in my Commander. Careful picking left no mars or scratches.I won't ever need to do it again though since I've stopped shooting bare lead bullets.
jcwit
Chore Boy pot scrubers made of copper. Take a magnet to the store as there is some made in china products that are copper plated steel, use only the U.S.A. product that is copper. Wrap it around an old worn out brush and use just about any bore cleaner with it, "stay away from the ammonia products for this".If you're getting much leading you might need to look at the bore diameter in relation to the bullet diameter. Or the type of lube you're using, but I'd check bullet dia. first.Guess I should have checked your link. hehehe
Crashbox
I wonder what year the Chore Boy went through a gender change (I hope I don't violate the R/S/P policy by asking this )...???
