wwillson
All,I've been trimming brass with a Lee case trimmer pictured here. The trimmer works well, but is slow and frankly hard on my fingers. Can you recommend a faster/better way to trim cases? Thanks,Wayne
JSharp
I'm still using the Lyman universal trimmer I got with my first reloading set. I added the power adapter so I can use a cordless screwdriver or drill to spin it.
Arkie_Lefty
Somebody (RCBS?) makes a trim die that mounts in a standard loader. You adjust amount of case sticking through, then file it off with a regular file. die is hard enough that file won't cut it, when proper amount is removed, you can feel that it's time to go to next case.I have a Lyman power trimmer. Never been overly impressed with it.Bob
steves
If you have the $$$ Dillon makes a nice setup. I have a RCBS that I removed the handle and use a drill motor on it .
RLH70
For years I used an RCBS Trim Pro, a few years back I bought an RCBS Trim Mate prep center.
wwillson
I put my Lee trimmer in a drill after reading JSharp's post. Much faster and doesn't hurt the fingers! Thanks guysWayne
Crashbox
I have a Hornady Case Trimmer which I have never used (loading only .357 Magnum so far) but since I'll likely be loading .40 S&W pretty soon I may need to use it to trim all my cases to uniform length.Just received my shipment of 1000, .40 S&W brass from Starline today! Interesting that the website indicates availability around 3/15/10 or sometime in March but they were certainly on the ball with my order- maybe it's because I'm a return customer...????? JSharp
Everyone's availability dates are messed up these days. They never seem to know for sure when they'll get anything. The only thing they know for sure is that they'll sell it right away.
