wwillson Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 I was looking at .223 Remington loads at Hodgdon's reloading center. They have published loads for .223 using shotgun/handgun powders that are very low charge weights, low pressures, and low velocities. Why would anyone want/use these loads? Wayne Quote
wwillson Posted January 9, 2010 Author Report Posted January 9, 2010 Am I correct to assume that they will not cycle the action in an AR-15?Wayne Quote
steves Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 Years ago I loaded pistol power loads for 30.06 . They were fun to shoot.I think a 22 LR would be better. Usually there is not enough gas pressure to operste the bolt properly. Quote
Bill_in_Utah Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 Am I correct to assume that they will not cycle the action in an AR-15?Wayne I'd guess so. I've never tired a light load in any of my AR15s. If I want to shoot light put in the 22lr conversion or grab one of the dedicated 22lr uppers. My mindset is if I want to shoot .223, I'm going for the AA2230 and NOT waste a bullet. Take care, bill Quote
