What do you use for a rust preventative ?

I know that everyone has their favorite stuff they use for rust prevention on their firearms.

1. I use LPS#2 95% of the time, LPS#3 for long term storage.

2. Sometimes I use Rem oil in the field because it comes in a small 4oz can.

3. On my Remington 1100, I use Breakfree CLP both inside and out. CLP keeps it running the longest with less residue.

I have a couple guns that I won't shoot and are in 'long term' storage in my safe. I coated the bore with ALOX, which is a commercial rust inhibitor (and works really well as a tumble lube). For the rest of my guns, I use a light gun oil or Rem Oil.

The most important piece of the no rust puzzle is the dehumidifier in my gun safe.

I, too, use WD 40 or similar product for storage; corrosion prevention is my primary concern. I have a dehumidifier in my basement, where my storage is, but I can never be too careful.

Then, when the weapons come out to play, they gets a quick shot of actual gun oil for the sake of lubricity.

I've had good success with this over the years.
