BarryinIN Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 Oh yeah- welcome back from wherever you've been hiding. Quote
Pablo Posted January 28, 2015 Author Report Posted January 28, 2015 Grease gun lower: http://www.rmwxtreme.com/#top Goes to my FFLThe whole NFA thing will make this a SLOW build. Quote
BarryinIN Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 Are you using their upper, too? If I'm reading right, it's gas operated and not blowback, correct? I'm very interested. The wait just makes you appreciate it more. At least that's what I heard when I was a kid. It's BS, but I thought I'd say it anyway. Quote
BarryinIN Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 So it will use modified Grease Gun mags too? How big a deal is that? Cooly cool. Keep us posted. And don't be so scarce; I'm tired of doing (almost) all the talking here. Everyone else has to be. Quote
Pablo Posted January 28, 2015 Author Report Posted January 28, 2015 I'm just usually pretty busy. Google modifying Grease gun magazines for 10mm. He supplies one. Supposedly works well. See him shooting full auto 10mm. Quote
Pablo Posted January 28, 2015 Author Report Posted January 28, 2015 Barrel/upper builder contacted me. Wanted some details on the fore grip and such. I asked him if he test fires. YES . AND he asked if I shoot factory or reloads. I answered. YES. Quote
Pablo Posted February 19, 2015 Author Report Posted February 19, 2015 I got the upper on Saturday with the parts kit, mag and stock kit.Nicely made. Grease gun mags are built like a tank!GG lower is at the FFL. Quote
Pablo Posted February 20, 2015 Author Report Posted February 20, 2015 Will see the FFL on Saturday Quote
BarryinIN Posted February 20, 2015 Report Posted February 20, 2015 I'm all a-quiver and it isn't even mine. Quote
Pablo Posted February 20, 2015 Author Report Posted February 20, 2015 I only have a small inkling of what this process is. The FFL receiving my virgin lower says he is a Type 10 FFL and a class 2 SOT, one of only 3 in WA. Can handle any type of NFA transfer in WA......but me making a SBR for my Trust only. I'm not sure about any of this, want to do right. Quote
BarryinIN Posted February 20, 2015 Report Posted February 20, 2015 A Type 10 is "Manufacturer of Destructive Devices" and is fairly uncommon. I think the number nationwide hovers around 200. Many will be recognizable manufacturer names to the average gun guy, like FN, Dillon, etc. Most so-called "machine gun dealers" are Type 07. Here is ATFE's list of Types with a chart you can use to find license holders by state. http://www.atf.gov/content/firearms/firearms-industry/listing-FFLsI'm sure you've researched the process, but since you have plenty of time to read while you wait, here are some links that include SBRing:http://www.titleii.com/bardwell/nfa_faqhtml.html (This one hasn't been updated in a few years, but while other parts may have changed, I don't think the SBR process has changed in that time. )A link of links, including the above:http://www.subguns.com/laws/laws.htmOf course a search on "SBR process" will no doubt get a few thousand explanations...some of which may be right:) Quote
Pablo Posted February 22, 2015 Author Report Posted February 22, 2015 Wow good stuff. The guy was very cool. I learned a lot. He has a machine gun, something an "ordinary" citizen in WA state can't own - state law. Only FFL's may own them.Anyway, I left with my lower and paid him his $25. He had a good point I should build the gun up as an AR pistol, and at the very least if everything fits up right and the lower is good, then start the SBR process online. The Grease Gun lower is quite nice. Very heavy duty and the trigger guard is permanent. I have it almost altogether except I don't have the one size roll pin starter for the bolt release. I need to wait for that to arrive. I don't just want to wail it in.I even did the clevis pin trick for the hinge pin. Haha worked great and the detent pin and spring remained in place. No big scratches so far.I ordered an Ergo grip and some Diamondhead USA polymer sights, those are the only parts I'm short. Oh and I need a pistol tube. I already have a Sig brace. Quote
BarryinIN Posted February 22, 2015 Report Posted February 22, 2015 Aha- That partially explains his license. I don't know if it's still true or not, but at one time, IL had the highest number of the various FFL types that allow Title II items. It was assumed that number was so high because it was the only way to own them. Quote
Pablo Posted February 22, 2015 Author Report Posted February 22, 2015 Here are a couple in work shots: Quote
Pablo Posted February 23, 2015 Author Report Posted February 23, 2015 Dialing in the magazine catch and release. Now nice. Quote

Pablo Posted February 27, 2015 Author Report Posted February 27, 2015 Just to be clear I am currently constructing a pistol and will shoot it as a pistol.I have filed on line and paid my $200 tax stamp. When that approval arrives I will only then change over the butt stock. Quote
Pablo Posted February 27, 2015 Author Report Posted February 27, 2015 My pistol is complete. Awesome. Quote
