  1. Love my K77MKII in .338 Mag. Strong, accurate, reliable, and proven. Today I would probably buy a stainless controlled feed M70 instead, but they did not exist when I bought the Ruger. I have little interest in other low to medium cost production bolt actions. Of course a 98 that was stainless and worked with a scope would be great as well.
  2. The early 77 MKIIs were not controlled feed. IIRC the first MKIIs were available only in non-magnum calibers. The magnum models came out a short time later and were the first of the controlled feed MKIIs (I think). I bought the first K77MKII I found in .338 Mag because it had controlled feed. In fact, that day was the first time I had seen any MKIIs with controlled feed. The change to controlled feed wasn't even highlighted at the time, probably because they were gradually migrating all the MKIIs to controlled feed.

    Glock 21

I've had a 21 for about 15 years. I have small hands and prefer a smaller grip so I don't shoot it much. Mine is reliable when not using light target loads. It's probably the most accurate .45 I've ever owned (I don't own any customized/accurized .45s), and I don't really want to part with it.
  4. I once owned a similar Mossberg model 46 from the same era. It too was missing some of the sights. I put a scope on it and found out it was a tack driver. It was kinda beat up, so I refinished the stock and it never shot as well after that.
  5. Marlin bolt action 22s. Does well in all of the OP’s “best” categories. Very good accuracy. Very dependable bolt action. Low cost. The Marlin auto 22s are a close second, but they are less reliable.
  6. Like many people, I've owned both. Choose your poison. Minuses: 10/22 - standard barreled models are less accurate than many 22 rifles M60 - needs to be cleaned every 250 rounds or so to avoid feeding problems. Pluses: 10/22 - Ultra reliable M60 - Very accurate on average Every tube fed model 60 I've owned has been reliable when cleaned regularly. And the least accurate of them was more accurate than the most accurate 10/22 I've had. The 10/22 is more dependable and the king of the 22 semi-automatic rifle modification/customization world. Personally, I would also consider the Remington 597. It's every bit as accurate as the M60 and probably more reliable. I also think it fits the average sized adult better than the other two as well.
