I did find that Remington has diagrams on their website here. It does require a viewer, but it works well. Wayne

Very glad to have you here! Wayne

jcwit, I believe this is the corn cob media at Grainger's you are referring to. I usually visit the local Wal-Mart for ground corn cob media, but it's too large and gets stuck in the primer hole as you stated. Thanks for the link, Wayne

Moe, Now that's a great explanation! I learned something today. Thanks, Wayne

I have a Lee Pro 4-20 bottom pour 20lb pot that works very well. I think this pot is one of the best values on the market. Wayne

Squibload, What is a VCI chip? Wayne

I'm not getting any younger, nor are my eyes. I've read that a red dot scope in place of iron sights will greatly aid target shooting for old eyes. Does anyone use red dot scope/s on their handguns? Does it make target shooting easier/better for older eyes? Wayne

A friend and I went to the CADA gun show at Pheasant Run in West Chicago, IL Nov 7th. Lots and lots of high value collector guns. Many Colt SSA revolvers that were between $10,000 and $20,000! A beautifully gold inscribed shotgun for $97,000. So many guns that I've read about and seen pictures of and there they were for my eyes to see in person! If you ever get a chance to go to one of the CADA shows, GO. Wayne

New Shotshell Reloader?
wwillson replied to Arkie_Lefty's topic in Shotgun Reloading Presses & Equipment
Bob, I've talked to a couple who have the Dillon SL900. I'll tell you that it really got my attention - they REALLY like the SL900. They are expensive, but I'm starting to think they might be worth the price. Wayne -
I think I'll try a goldenrod or a small light bulb. I agree that reactivating the silica gets old. When I'm gone for a week or two during humid times, there is no protection as the silica gets saturated in about 3 days. Wayne

I've been looking for a way other than the silica gel packets to keep my gun safe dry. I found a silica gel dehumidifier the plugs into a 120v wall outlet to regenerate (force the water out of the silica gel). The brand name of the product I found is "Eva-Dry", search google you'll find it. Claims it can be regenerated thousands of times. Seems it would be much cheaper over time to use instead of the packets. Does anyone use this or something similar to keep your gun safe dry? Wayne

A member of our trap club was showing me two identical choke tubes - one brand new, the other had been shot many times. Both were clean and free of any visible defects. When screwed in the used choke tube was fairly tight, while the new tube dropped in and turned with little effort - noticeably different. The only reasonable explanation is that the used tube had stretched to a slightly larger diameter. Is it plausible that a choke tube could stretch over time? Wayne

I have two Lee .452 molds - 452-228-1R & TL452-230-2R. When both are tumble lubed with liquid ALOX I have slightly less leading with the TL452-230-2R. I'm curious if any else has banded and TL bullets of similar weight/design? If so, do you find more or less leading with either while using the same alloy? Wayne

I hunted for years in a shotgun only county (most are) while growing up in Iowa. I never shot at a deer more than 25 yards away, but then again never really needed to. We always filled our tags in the first couple days. Wayne

I'm considering purchasing this mold, but don't know how it will feed in a 1911. If anyone has any experience, I would appreciate hearing your thoughts. Wayne

What is your favorite loading manual?

I gotta ask how were able to download the data? Wayne -
Welcome Dave! Glad to have you here, I think you'll find a great place with lots of very knowledgeable folks. Wayne

I've heard from a couple people that as the wad and shot travel down the shotgun barrel that some of the shot will 'race' ahead of the wad. I'm struggling to understand how this could be? The stop-action picture clearly shows the shot packed solidly into the wad as it leaves the barrel.

I did move my comb to the up and to the right, which effectively puts more cast into the stock. Shoots zero and slightly high now - right where I want it. Wayne

In this post you'll see that my 870 shoots left. A couple members said it's possible to bend a shotgun barrel to make it shoot where you're pointing it. Has anyone ever done this? Heard of it? Wayne

I'd really have to say I'm very fond of the on-line Hodgdon reloading data center. My favorite book would be the Lee second edition - lots and lots of loads. Wayne
